We need your help to preserve the oldest house in Stonington, CT. and the entire property that has been so important to early American history. We have an immediate need to achieve four goals:

corner of the East Room (a front
parlor). It is thought to be a
Rhode Island piece. Photo taken
in 1936 along with the HABS
drawings.
- Historical Structure Report (HSR): The HSR will consist of a detailed history of ownership,
occupancy, and the use and physical changes to the building over time; a full inspection and
detailed inventory of the building's structure, materials, and finishes with direct reference
to their architectural integrity and condition; an evaluation of priorities for preservation
and repair with itemized cost estimates; and specific recommendations to accommodate new or
expanded uses to comply with relevant building codes for historic buildings.
- Feasibility Study: A comprehensive feasibility study for the establishment of the Stanton-Davis Homestead Museum.
- Storage of the artifacts: Rental of a secure, climate-controlled storage facility.
- Insurance: Liability insurance, to protect against any accidental injuries.
To make these important projects possible, we need to raise $75,000. After initial surveys are completed, we will need to raise approximately $4,000,000 to restore and endow the museum.
Please help us meet these four goals. You may contribute by sending a check or by paying online. We are a 501-c3 non-profit organization and your donation is fully tax deductable.
